Day
Trips
" James Bond Island " and Koh Pannyi (so-called "Sea Gypsy Island", really a Muslim community) are just two of the famous spots in this bay. A leisurely daytrip cruising past dramatic limestone islands and stopping to enjoy these quiet beaches . The stunning beauty of the two Phi Phi Islands have made them the top daytrip destination out of Phuket. Sheer cliffs stained with earth colours soar from calm, clear seas. This nearby island is one of the most popular destinations from the southern end of Phuket Island. The water is beautiful--- perfect for watersports such as parasailing, snookelling, skiing, sailing and scuba diving. Casual beach reataurants serve good Thai food and cold beer. While tours are available, its also easy to get there by hiring a longtail boat for half a day at Chalong Bay or Rawai Beach, where a boat should run about 800 bath for a half-day. A hightly recommended daytrip is canoeing in silent inflatable canoes into caves within the spectacular karst islands of Phang Nga Bay, many with channels to open-to-the-sky hong ("room") with mangrove-fringed lagoons, environments preserved for millennia.
Phuket is becoming internationally known as a major player in the world of gamefishing. Mahi mahi (dorado), tuna, sailfish, marlin and other species abound in the blue waters of the Adaman.
